a high-octane late night comedy meets interactive madcap academic lecture, directed, written and conceptualized by duncan

Late Night Lecture Series is a comedy show in the form of a college style class. It crams an entire semester’s worth of academic tropes into one chaotic lecture, including but not limited to roll call, class handouts, visual aides, pop quizzes, student (audience) participation and a musical number or two. Each LNLS focuses on one under-explored topic. Over the course of the show, the audience learns real facts about this topic, delivered by an eccentric cast of two opposing professors and one doe-eyed TA whose personal lives slowly start to infiltrate their teachings. With the house lights up to replicate the classroom environment, audience members will be active participants in the show — for example, being asked to popcorn read the syllabus, to come up to the board, or to engage with the professors’ increasingly unorthodox teaching methods.

Previous runs of Late Night Lecture Series include: “Icelandic Cuisine” at the Harvard Science Center, “How to Maneuver Your First Year of College” at NYU’s student orientation week, and the entire History of the Letter X at The Elysian Theater in Los Angeles.
